Frequently asked questions (Reimbursement)
I sent my invoices several weeks ago, and I still haven't received reimbursement. What is the reimbursement timeline?
The current reimbursement timeline for national invoices is 2 to 3 weeks.
Why are CP1/CP8 codes not reimbursed?
In certain situations, physicians or dentists are allowed to charge a personal convenience supplement (CP) under the condition that they have informed the insured in advance and received their consent. Personal convenience supplements are not reimbursed by CMFEP and are entirely the responsibility of the insured.
When can I get new glasses and be reimbursed by the CMFEP?
Except in the case of a change in diopter greater than or equal to +/- 0.50, health insurance only covers one set of eyeglasses, including frames and lenses, every three years. The starting point for calculating the timeframe is the date of the last coverage provided by health insurance (Article 126 of CNS statutes). For children under 14 years of age, the coverage for glasses is provided without a renewal period, but a medical prescription is required.
Do I need to put a stamp on the envelope sent to CMFEP?
If you are sending your mail from Luxembourg, you do not need to put a stamp on the envelope, as the postage is covered by the health fund.
Can I send my invoices via email to CMFEP?
No, according to the CNS statutes, the reimbursement for services and supplies can only be made based on originals. Therefore, please send us the original invoices by mail.
Do I need to send my certificate of incapacity for work (pink document) to CMFEP?
Any person affiliated with CMFEP does not need to submit the certificate of incapacity for work, as they are entitled to legal preservation of their income throughout the duration of their sick leave.
